The New Magnum Side-By-Side

When Argo entered the ATV market a few years ago, their reasoning was simple. If most of their customers already own ATVs, why not make a one for them? Now, they’re entering the UTV market with their first side-by-side, the Magnum. While some manufacturers may be content to put their badge on another company’s vehicle, the Magnum is designed and built in-house, with Argo’s usual attention to detail. The result is a vehicle that offers features that you can’t find anywhere else.

Power

The Magnum is powered by a fuel injected 443cc liquid cooled engine taken from Argo’s Xplorer XR500 ATV. This engine sends power to a CVT with a high and low range final drive. The transmission remains engaged off throttle for engine braking.

The drivetrain switches between two and four wheel drive with a push of a button. The differential locks are also electronic. Unlike most utility-focused side-by-sides, the Magnum can lock both the front and rear differentials. This model has double A-arm independent suspension front and back with adjustable dampers all around. The suspension has 7.5 inches of travel, and this vehicle has 10 inches of ground clearance.

Cargo and Other Notable Features

The Magnum has better storage than its competitors, thanks to a box under the tailgate, space under the hood and a glove box. The rear dump bed has a 500 lb. capacity, and it comes with a molded rubber mat for easy cleanup.
The Magnum has a 1,200 lb. towing capacity. A two inch rear hitch receiver lets you hook this UTV up to ball and pintle hitches with the right hitch.
This UTV has seating for two The adjustable steering wheel sits in front of a full digital gauge cluster. Thanks to its 8.5 gallon fuel tank, running a full day between refills should be no problem.
The Magnum measures just 106.6 x 56.7 inches, which means you can fit it inside a full-size truck bed.

Models

Argo offers the Magnum in two versions. The  Magnum XF is the basic model focused on utility. It has green plastic body panels, and rides on 25 inch Maxxis tires mounted on steel rims.
The Magnum LE adds features to make it more capable off-road. Electric Power Steering (EPS) comes standard, and it rides on 25 inch Duro Power Grip tires mounted on aluminum rims. It also comes with a front-mounted 3,000 lb. winch. While the XF’s body panels are bare plastic, this UTV has panels painted in a choice of  Flame Orange or Slate Grey.
